Thank you so much for your wonderful letter,which has cheered me up enormously.
It came as quite a surprise actually,
but I knew it wouldn't be long before we wrote to each other.
Although you were right,
I did need some time to get my verbs (act) together.
It seems like so long ago since we sat on my airbed,
in my empty flat upon the eve of my departure.
